Skincare 101

Today I am going to be talking about my favourite skincare products. It was really difficult to keep it down to 5, so I am going to be talking about my favourite face products today and doing another general skincare products post later. So, to business!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I have always been a bit sceptical of micellar cleansing waters. How can something that is essentially bottled water be any good at removing makeup? I have used both the highly raved about Bioderma Crealine H20 Cleanser & its sister product, the Bioderma Sebium. I have also tried the Avene Micellar Lotion. I thought they were ok but really nothing special (and also quite pricey!). I happened to be browsing the aisles of Priceline with a $50 gift card clutched in my sweaty paw (thanks sis!) when I spied this GIGANTIC bottle of micellar water lurking by the counter. I had been looking for a new makeup removal product for a while (Ultrabland is great, especially in winter but quite messy & time consuming) so I was quite pleased to spy this and very happy with the results!

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipsticks

I’ve you’ve been keeping up with my lipstick escapades in the Lipstick Tag and the Lipstick Product Addict Tag, it will come as no surprise to learn that Rimmel is one of my very favourite drugstore brands, especially when it comes to lipstick. I LOVE the Kate Moss range by Rimmel and not just because Kate is one of my idols! The Moisture Renew Range launched in March and Georgia May Jagger, another gorgeous gal, is the face of the new range. 

Her Fashion Box - May

Well hello there lovely readers!

Guess what? My May Her Fashion Box arrived today, delivered by my wonderful extremely disgruntled postman. He seems genuinely upset that he has to deliver so many parcels to me every week, not that it's his job or anything...ANYWAY! My HFB is here and I have another unboxing video to share with you (apologies for looking like a sleepy ferret in the video!).

Taking Out the Trash - May

It's that time again! Time to take out the trash! I, once again, managed to finish quite a few products over the course of the month. I did try to keep it short but I do like to chit chat so the video is nearly 20 minutes long!

Out & About

Work has been a bit hectic as we are gearing up for the field season which requires A LOT of preparation. I did manage to get out with friends to a delicious little tapas bar at Southbank called Olé but I was too busy drinking wine and eating tapas to take any pictures! I was also given tickets at the last minute to attend the launch of Ciroc Coconut at Dandy’s Rooftop Bar at the Fox which was fantastic. The cockatails were delish, as was the food and we discovered the magic of Uber, which is a private taxi service. Great night all up! This month also saw the launch of the vlog section of KaBOOM! The Lipstick Product Addict Tag

I was having an absolute crapper of a Monday today. I slept badly last night (had horrible nightmares), it’s “that” time of the month (why, Mother Nature, WHY!?) and I had a banging headache for most of the day (the lights, they burn!). So when I sneakily checked Twitter at work, I was very happy to see that my lovely friend Kate from the Minted Beauty had tagged me to do a post. My day immediately looked up and I couldn’t wait to get home to write this! Here goes, hang on to your lipsticks! 

NYX Primers - Pore Filler & Photo-Loving Primer

Today, I have some beautiful base products to show you. I finished up my favourite L’Oreal Base Magique Primer and was looking for something new. I love the pore filling and mattifying effect so was looking for something similar when I came across the NYX Pore Filler. Side note: There is also a sister primer called Shine Killer, I always want to give them ghetto names and call them Pore Filla and Shine Killa…. listening to too much rap lately maybe? I also spotted the Studio Perfect Photo-Loving Primer and popped that into the shopping basket too. 

Dirty Works - Buttery Salt Scrub & Body Butter

I had my eye on these for a while before they FINALLY showed up in my local Coles. I was positively itching to get my hands on them, I love a good scrub and I’m a sucker for a body butter. I’m always on the lookout for decent skincare products that don’t cost the earth and it’s great that I can throw them in with my regular grocery shop. Read on to find out more!

My "Old Faithful" Collection

Today, I’m going to take a look at 5 of my staple makeup products. My style has changed a lot in the past few years but I always find myself coming back to these old faithful products for one reason or another. I might not use them every day but I do find that I keep coming back to them.
