I'm back! It feels SO good to be back to blogging again and thank you to everyone for being so patient and waiting around for me to get my act together. Let's get right back into it with a good old fashioned review.
If you're like me, the new Nars foundation was so hyped up that most people (myself included) were chomping at the bit to pick it up. Most of the reviews I'd seen or heard from bloggers & vloggers lucky enough to snag a pre-release PR sample were pretty good. And because the foundation released with a whole bunch of other highly coveted goodies, like the new Hourglass Modernist Palettes, AND they released on my birthday, I was pretty much knocking down the door at Mecca the following day to get my hands on them!
The Product - Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation in Fiji ($64.00)
My first impressions were VERY positive. Unlike Sheer Glow, All Day Weightless comes in a square glass bottle that looks and feels very classy. It seems like NARS were listening because this foundation comes with a pump (ABOUT TIME, NARS!) to save the rigmarole of having to track one down yourself (check out my NARS post for the deets on that situation).
The first time I applied this, I was in love! It went on like a dream and despite having a really liquidy consistency, it gave really amazing coverage. My initial thoughts were still good as the foundation gave good coverage, but still looked natural with a beautiful glowy finish. It also felt really nice on my skin, not at all what you'd imagine from a such a full coverage foundation.
Unfortuantely, that's where the pros for this foundation end. It wore horrendously on my combination skin, giving my dry patches, sinking into pores and fine lines and wearing off in a really patchy way. I tried using different primers, different application techniques and nothing worked for me. By the end of the day, I was a hot mess! Patchy and oily around the nose and forehead but with strange dry patches everywhere else, nightmare....
KaBOOM! Cosmetics gives the NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation:
I ended up returning this foundation for a full refund and I definitely
wasn't the only one to do so. I'll be sticking with my Sheer Glow for
now because it applies and wears so much better than this dud. I have heard from a lot of people who do love it and I've heard that it works really well on dry skin but if you have combination to oily skin like me, then it's probably not worth investing in.

Such a shame that this didn't live up to the hype! I was really hoping it would have been lovely!

Such a shame that this didn't work for you. I'm in need of a new foundation, so I'll definitely be looking at trying Sheer Glow now. :)

I was hoping so too! But thank goodness Mecca has such a generous returns policy, I was able to get a full refund so at least it wasn't a waste of money for me.
You could get a sample from Mecca to test out, I think you'd get enough to tell you whether you'd like it or not.... But after trying this one I'd definitely recommend Sheer Glow as a first pick.
Me too! But I guess that's what happens with a lot of overhyped products, there's so much talk and so many high expectations that it just ends up being really disappointing.
I was quite disappointed but at least I got a full refund for it. I heave heard a lot of girls saying it's amazing so it obviously does work for some people...just not for me! Let me know what you think of Sheer Glow
That's so annoying that you had the same experience with that foundation as me!! I have combo skin as well and it did the exact same thing for me. I returned mine as well! Great review! I love your little kisses :) xx
