Rimmel would have to be one of my absolute
favourite drugstore brands and I’ve been SUPER excited ever since I heard about
their collaboration with Rita Ora. The collection includes six of Rimmel’s
fabulous 60 Seconds Polishes and six Lasting Finish Colour Rush Balms, all
named by Rita herself. There are a really good mix of shades in both the nail
polishes and the lip colours and I couldn’t wait to get my hot little hands on
the collection!
You can brush up on your Rimmel history by
reading my post on their Moisture Renew Lipsticks here. The basics are that the brand has been around in
various forms since 1820 (it’s practically ANCIENT!) and was founded by a super
cool sounding dude, Eugene Rimmel. Gene (as I like to call him now) opened up a
perfumery at the tender age of 14 in Bond Street, London. He was seen as
something of a visionary in terms of cosmetics. The rest is pretty much history
and Rimmel has expanded almost globally since then and is available in over 40
countries.

60
Seconds Nail Polish in #323 Don’t Be Shy ($7.95 for
8ml)*
I have always been a fan of Rimmel’s 60
Second range because it’s affordable, easy to apply and lasts a good few days
without chipping. I’m glad to see that there’s a little touch of Rita Ora in
the collection’s new packaging in the form of an iconic English postage stamp
with Rita’s face on, very cool. Don’t Be
Shy is a bright fuchsia, perfect for adding a pop of colour to your look.
There are 3 brights and 3 pastel polishes and I’m aiming to buy all of them. White Hot Love, a white with a pearl
finish looks especially good. The polishes are designed to be quick drying (not
quite 60 seconds but pretty fast) and apply in one coat and I have to say, I
was quite impressed with how good Don’t
Be Shy looked with just one coat.
Lasting
Finish Colour Rush Balms in #220 Rumour Has It and #100 Give Me a Cuddle ($12.95 each)*
Like the nail polishes, there are a total
of six different Colour Balms. Rumour
Has It is described as crimson, though I would say it’s a berry-toned dark
pink and Give Me a Cuddle is a
“dusty rose pink”. The Colour Rush Balms come in simple plastic packaging in
the same shade as the lip colour, with a twist up crayon applicator. They’re
very simple and chic and they also have a delicious vanillery scent that smells
quite strong in the packaging but doesn’t linger. The balms themselves are
pigmented and have a nice, hydrating finish, an excellent addition to my
on-the-go makeup bag. True to their name, the colour acts a bit like a lip
stain and hangs around for a good few hours. Sadly, the balm aspect isn’t quite
as long lasting but you can’t have everything!

Rita Ora collection:
This collection gets a definite thumbs
up from me! I love the shades and I love how quick and easy both the polish and
the lip colours are to apply. I’m very impressed with the collaboration and
now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m on a mission to track down the rest of those
polishes!
Stay beautiful!

Love the look of 'Give me a cuddle'. The polish is such a perfect pink shade too!

Give Me a Cuddle isn't what I'd usually pick but it's growing on me and Don't Be Shy is perfect! Like I said, I can't wait to have the whole range of polishes.
That nail polish colour and 'Rumour has it' Colour Balm are gorgeous. Perfect for the upcoming Spring season. I recently purchased 'Breakfast in Bed' and it's such a pretty turquoise nail polish :)

You're right, they're great spring colours. Breakfast in Bed looked amazing too, the 60 Second range has some great colours

I think of the two, I prefer Rumour Has It but only because it's close to what I'd usually pick but Give Me A Cuddle is still gorgeous
The lip crayons look so pigmented, I though they would be more sheer!
