Ah, spring has sprung! I love feeling the change
in the air as we wave goodbye to winter and start dreaming of lazy days at the
beach and sunshine, glorious sunshine. One of my favourite things about spring
is spring cleaning, nothing beats the feeling of chucking out all your old
things to make room for lovely new things. With that in mind, I have picked up
a few new things to add to my general routine in honour of spring.
This caught my eye in Priceline recently and I
was intrigued. In winter, I tend to go for thick, creamy moisturisers to combat
my scaly lizard’s skin but with the warmer weather, those body lotions often
leave me feeling greasy. This spray on body lotion is not only super quick to
apply, it's also lightweight and absorbs in moments. It leaves my skin feeling
soft and well-moisturised, without feeling too heavy. The scent of Cocoa Glow
also puts me in mind of a tropical holiday with palms trees, bikinis, Pina
Coladas ...sigh....
Victoria's Secret
Island Rush Body Spray $22.00 for 250ml
I wish that we had a Victoria's Secret shop in
Brisbane! I picked this up from the Melbourne store when I went down for the
Sparkling Soiree. Island Rush is an absolutely mouthwatering combination of
tropical fruits and coconut and I fell in love with it instantly. I want to use
it every day but I'm afraid that I'll use it up too quickly! This is a
must-have for the summer months, it's the perfect spring/summer scent.
Sally Hansen Spring
Racing Collection* $14.95 each
Nothing says spring like the combination of
pastels and racing! Sally Hansen polishes have always been among my favourites
but the new Spring Racing Collection is definitely a favourite. I have the
shades Water Colour and Baracuda, both are absolutely perfect
for spring and will definitely be decorating my digits this season. I’ve had so
many compliments on the Water Colour
shade already! The wear time on these polishes is pretty decent too, I’ve
experienced at least 4 days with no chipping and only minimal wear on the ends.
BB+ Illuminator by
Gerard Cosmetics $36.00 USD for 50ml
I was lucky enough to buy this from the CEO of
Gerard Cosmetics herself (Jen) when I met her at IMATS (you can check out my
haul video here). She was so warm and personable and funny, you couldn't help
but like her. I'm fairly new to Gerard Cosmetics but the BB+ was one of their
first products and is still a best seller. It's a shimmery illuminator with a
golden tone that can be worn alone to pep up dull skin or under foundation for
an added glow. My recommendation for the warmer months, is to mix this with an
equal amount of BB Cream for a beautiful glowy finish that screams "spring
is here"!
EverEscents
Conditioning Detangler* $26.90 for 150ml
In winter, my hair is a dry, frizzy mess that
requires hours of mask, treatments and soothing words to keep it in check. Come
spring, it tends to need less in terms of moisture and a lot more in terms of
just keeping it under control! My hair is amazingly knotty and I really
struggle with keeping it smooth, sleek and tangle free. My hairdresser was kind
enough to gift me with a bottle of this and I have never looked back. As well
as smelling deliciously fresh and zingy (it’s raspberry scented), it lets me
gets through my tangles tresses in half the time AND it keeps my hair looking
good throughout the day too, what more could you ask for?
Writing this post has actually boosted my mood, I
love spring and summer and I can't wait to get down the beach and work on my
tan or lie or the grass and read a book or hear the sizzle of the barbeque as I
sip on a cider....ahhh!

The new Sally Hansen collection looks really pretty, I love the pastels. Also I've been hearing a heap about Gerard Cosmetics! Their products sound awesome and the illuminator looks really pretty!
Tasha // shiwashiful.
I love pastels too and the Complete Manicure range always lasts really well, I hate chipped nails! It does seem like Gerard Cosmetics is starting to get pretty popular in Australia now, I'm definitely keen to try more from them :)
